My daughter and I had been just disembarked from a cruise and decided to explore South Beach on our last day in Florida, hoping we could secure a room for the night.. Turned out it was Good Friday--uh oh! After hours of traipsing around with our luggage in the heat going from one booked hotel to another we found Laura's listing on the internet in what I now suspect was an act of Divine Intervention. It was a quiet oasis in the heart of the hip, pulsating South Beach. Laura responded to my on line query immediately and met us at the Studio within the half hour so that we could leave our bags and get on the beach. She was lovely, helpful, and gave us tips about inexpensive van services to the airport the next morning. I can not recommend her highly enough. A drought has left the OC Fisher Reservoir in San Angelo State Park in West Texas almost entirely dry. The water that is left is stagnant, full of dead fish — and a deep, opaque red.
